We could have asked Thredbo athlete Anna Segal her key to a podium place in Sochi, her nutritional advice or mental regime but we didn’t. The former World Champion, three times X Games medalist and Australian Olympic Team Ski Slopestyle athlete talks Russian fish, Mad Men and Bubble Butt with Snow It All.

Right here.

Are you practising any Russian?

Da….. Da?!

Is a Coulibiac a Russian cadillac, Russian fish dish, Russian for concierge or a Russian dance?

A Russian Dance? (Sorry Anna, it’s a Russian fish dish)

What do you plan to try or do in Russia that you’ve never done before?

Compete in the Olympics!

What are you listening to on your iPod right now?

Angus Stone, Chet Faker, Flume, Flight Facilities, Arcade Fire, Major Lazor and some Depak Chopra thrown in the mix

What’s the last TV show you watched?

Mad Men. I just finished season 1- getting through it slowly but surely. It’s not as addictive as Game of Thrones or Girls (my other top choices), but it’s keeping me occupied until new episodes of the other two come out.

Who was your childhood band/popstar/actor crush?

Jonathan Taylor Thomas from Home Improvement. That bowl cut was so dreamy.

Girls – are you Hannah, Marni, Jessa or Shoshana?

That is a hard one! They all have so many issues. I think Shoshana is the most stable, so I’m going to choose her.

The Hangover – are you Phil, Stu, Alan or Doug?

I don’t think I’m on the same wavelength as any of these characters, so I’ll pass on this question.

Kangaroo, Wombat or Koala and why?

Sugar Glider. They glide on the wind from tree to tree like ninjas of the night, plus they have the most adorable eyes.

Who do you think should have got the #1 spot on Triple J’s Hottest 100?

Bubble Butt by Major Lazor. It makes all us skier girls feel good about our booties

Favourite holiday ever and why?

Surfing in Indonesia. I love being in the warm water after an intense winter of freezing cold temperatures and banging up my body.

Anything you’d like to say to your fans, supporters, folks back in Australia?

I’m so thankful for all the support and encouragement I’ve received from family, friends and even those I’ve never met. It means a lot!
